<title><![CDATA[Scanpix Prize for Astrid Dalum]]></title>

<p>Today at the ceremony for the graduating photojournalists Astrid Dalum was awarded the Scanpix Prize for best photojournalistic BA project.</p>
<p>Astrid&rsquo;s project Jeg er kvinde (I am woman) explores women and their relation to their bodies.</p>
<p>&ldquo;The portraits contains a vulnerability and it takes credibility and empathy to make the women participate&rdquo; explain Scanpix in the reasons for giving the prize to this project.&nbsp;</p>

<title><![CDATA[Ahmed Hayman wins at Egypt POY]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://ahmedhayman.wordpress.com/" target="_blank">Ahmed Hayman</a> has today won first prize in the story category at the Egypt Press Photo Awards 2011 with a series of pictures that he made for his diploma project.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Stories in Piel de Foto]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[<p>The recent edition of the Spanish magazine <a href="http://pieldefoto.org/" target="_blank">Piel de Foto</a> have published three stories with connection to our school.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>- Nicolai Linares' story <em>Dreams of a New Cairo</em> is shown over three spreads. Nicolai has finished his final workshops in 2011 and in 2012 he's going to make his final BA.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>- Prasiit Sthapit, one of the participants from our Master Class in Nepal, is represented with his story <em>The New Silk Road</em>.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>- Jan Rosseel, international student from Belgium, shows his story <em>No Budget Cup</em>.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<title><![CDATA[Six students nominated for Danish POY]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday, the jury of the Danish POY released the names of the nominated photographers from the Danish POY 2011.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The list included six students from our school:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Liv H&oslash;ybye Jeppesen, currently doing her intern at Jyllands-Posten.</p>
<p>Christian Klindt S&oslash;lbeck, who will graduate this January.</p>
<p>Dennis Lehmann, currently doing his intern at Berlingske Media.</p>
<p>Jeppe B&oslash;je Nielsen, who's in his final year and will start his 7th semester this spring.</p>
<p>Magnus Holm, currently doing his intern at Politiken.</p>
<p>Tobias N&oslash;rgaard Pedersen, who's at 7th semester.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>In all 21 still and video photographers were nominated this year. But it's still a secret which prizes the photographers will receive and for which pictures.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>This will be revealed at an award ceremony on the 2nd of March at the Royal Library in Copenhagen.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>The published story consists of vertical pictures from Chinatown in New York and it was made as a Visual Project while Nina was studying at DSMJ in the spring 2011.</p>

<p>The story can be seen from page 34 and is also available online in the <a href="http://www.profifoto.de/aktuelle-ausgabe/e-reader" target="_blank">e-reader edition</a> of the magazine.</p>

<p>In 2011 Nina Weymann-Schulz won the Canon Profifoto prize with this series of images.</p>]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[James Njuguna in TV2 Østjylland tonight]]></title>

<p>James is now back in Kenya where he's establishing a photo resource center to assist promising photographers and multimedia communicators in Kenya and the greater East African region. The center is called <a href="http://pmi-ea.com/" target="_blank">PMI-EA</a>.</p>

Journalist Lene Winther writes about the master class for Nepali photographers and the magazine brings some examples of the stories made during the master class.</p>
