In an old ordinary gymnastics hall, once in a while something uncommon goes on.
Something that some would say is extreme. But those who come here can’t wait to experience the adranalin-kick that hits them once they are there.
And it's not just persons with tattoos all over their bodies who come here to be hung up. It‘s also the warehouse clerk and the farmer.
As long as you have skin on your body you can be a part of the group who do suspension.

Some years ago the fishing culture was a proud part of the Danish self-understanding. But the fishermen no longer fill up the harbors. In Gilleleje it is no different. The old fishermen are about to stop and there are only a few young people left to take over.

Before the tunnel, Fotojournaliststuderende Katrine Emilie Andersen

A billion dollar tunnel to Germany is soon to be built, from the small village Rødbyhavn at Lolland (southern Denmark).

Right now shops are closing, and there is little future for stores. Only a bakery, Red Cross shop and the local florist survived. But soon 3000 European workers are going to move into a trailer park city next to the village for a number of years and more than double the number of inhabitants. So maybe there is hope for local salesmen and bar owners, when all the workers move to area.

However, what happens after the tunnel is done. Right now we stop by the ferry, buy a coke and hang out while we wait. When the ferry closes, Rødbyhavn loses it's biggest working workplace - and who will ever stop in the small village when they can just take the tunnel and get on with your journey?

Into The Sea, Photojournalist Sarah Hoffman

They do it for the water, the birds, the sea and the sunrise. When Denmark's water temperature dips below freezing they submerge. Winter sea swimming has been a longstanding Danish tradition believed by some to make the body stronger and less susceptible to sickness.

This group of elderly winter swimmers drop their bathrobes to go into the sea every morning. They have been swimming together for over 10 years. Many of the members go without their spouses and have created long standing relationships with each other based on trust.

All of the conscripts on Varde Kaserne but one, have volunteered for the danish army. In squad 1 in the 2nd platoon they all agree, that the friendship they have is very unique. Being young boys they must balance the military discipline with the need for fun and social life.
