The first POYi contest was held in 1944 which makes it the oldest international photo competetion for photojournalism. The annual competetion is held at Missouri University, Columbia. One unique thing is that the judging is public.
Maybe the most prestigious photo contest around.

Gallery in Copenhagen, situated at Carlsberg.
Galleri Image is a non commercial gallery showing national and international photo and video art. The gallery was established in 1977 in Aarhus where it still has it's adress.
Peter Lav Gallery is a relatively new gallery, established in 2006.
The gallery is the first in Copenhagen which focuses exclusively on contemporary photography.
